Cities: Eater SF's guide to the best food and drink options at this year's Outside Lands festival in San Francisco

Outside Lands, the three-day music festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, is a unique opportunity for the Bay Area's top restaurants to come together and showcase their offerings. For the fourth year, Eater SF's writer has compiled a snacking cheat sheet to help attendees navigate the diverse food options available.

## The Best of the New

This year, several new collaborations and vendors are making their debut at Outside Lands. One of the most anticipated offerings is the pizza bagels from Wise Sons x Outta Sight Pizza. This nostalgic crossover of pizza and bagel is sure to be a hit, and the writer plans to pair it with cacio e pepe fries. Another exciting collaboration is the fried eggplant and potato flatbread wrap with sambal tomat from Reem's x Lion Dance Cafe. The writer is also looking forward to trying the herb-crusted lamb lavash from Jaji x Tallboy, which comes with loaded dirty martini olive potato chips on the side.

## Nonprofit Food Incubator La Cocina

La Cocina, a nonprofit food incubator, is bringing three up-and-coming vendors to the festival. All three businesses are focusing on wings this year, and they all sound excellent. Chi Chi's Kiosko offers grilled chicken wings with tamarind barbecue sauce, while Chiricana has fried Panamanian recao verde wings. Mi Comedor offers pineapple al pastor crispy chicken wings. Meski is also in the mix this year, and while the Ethiopian beef tenderloin burritos sound amazing, the writer's devotion to oxtail leads them to try the oxtail-loaded duck fat yuca fries.

## Afternoon Pick-Me-Ups

For afternoon pick-me-ups, the writer plans to swing by Paper Son Coffee for an iced pandan latte and maybe a twice-baked ube croissant. Alternatively, they might visit Parachute Bakery, whose vanilla and passionfruit croissant cubes have caught their eye. For those with a VIP ticket, the salt bread with ube diplomat cream or the crab rangoon kouign amann from Tano might be a great option.

## Snack Series

The writer has also compiled a list of snacks they'd like to try during the festival, including momo dumplings at Bini's Kitchen, half-order of the beef chimichurri pho dip sandwich at Bodega SF, mini order of churro tots at Charles Chocolates, mini chicken and sausage gumbo bowl at Gumbo Social, and a crispy cauliflower pakoda from Tiya.

## Limited-Edition Menu Items

For those looking to try the limited-edition menu items, the writer recommends the honey walnut pork and shrimp sandwich from Piglet & Co., the uni smash burger with shiso leaf and yuzu kosho ponzu aioli from Smish Smash, and Poorboy Coffee's Cereal Killer Coffee, a clarified coffee cereal milk punch with citrusy strawberry cold foam.

| Vendor | Menu Item | | --- | --- | | Piglet & Co. | Honey walnut pork and shrimp sandwich | | Smish Smash | Uni smash burger with shiso leaf and yuzu kosho ponzu aioli | | Poorboy Coffee | Cereal Killer Coffee |

Outside Lands takes place from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9. For the full food and drink list, head to sfoutsidelands.com.
